Trees for Canterbury TFC
Trees for Canterbury (a project of the Green Effect Trust) has 3 main aims. Employ, Educate, Regenerate. We work with disadvantaged people in our community installing a sense of self worth, developing communication and and assisting into paid employment where possible. We talk to schools and other community groups,(garden clubs, scouts, church groups etc) about what we do and why we do it, passing on the environmental message. We also grow, plant and donate through different schemes over 40,000 native plants per year. Many are for revegetation projects while some go to beautification and educational groups. We sell plants to the public as a means of funding our operation. [ Canterbury ]
